NEW ZEALAND ARTIST
Mark Craven
INTRODUCTION:
Mark Craven is a 22 year old New Zealand artist.
He is in his last year of Auckland Universe studying for a degree in Architecture.
“ Painting is my second love next to architecture and any spare time I have, I paint”.
His other interests include playing the trumpet, surfing, wakeboarding, and basketball.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
He has been painting since the age of 13, and has already been employed for several commissioned works.
INSPIRATION:
His inspiration for doing his art was the environment he lived in - by the North Shore. He says the beaches and vivid colours of the coastal landscape inspire him to paint.
My inspiration for choosing Mark Craven’s artwork is because I love seeing the beach and especially like playing in the water. I love seeing the clear blue water and splashing the water into my brother’s face!
CONCLUSION:
I chose Mark Craven and his artwork because it really stood out to me because of all the colour but mostly the Pohutukawa tree.
I went to the store and brought flowers that look like the ones that are on his work. The flower will have a 3D effect. I will use watercolour to do the waves and the beach.
