Here is a letter I wrote to my parent helper on camp. In the letter there is a recount about the sensory trail which was my favourite part about camp.
I hope you like it!

Dear Pip
Thank you for coming to Arthur's Pass camp. Without you this camp would not have been possible. I really appreciate how you helped make dinner and helped out with our team challenges. Thank you for being patient with me on the sensory trail and helping Beech with the scavenger hunt. I really appreciate everything you did on camp.
Here is a recount I wrote about my favourite moment from camp.
“DUCK, you are going to hit a tree,” shouted Miss Scott. I started to walk, slow and steady as Dave the guide had told me at the lodge. I held onto the rough rope and started to walk. I came to the first obstacle, well maybe not for some people but definitely me. There was a root sticking out of the ground, oh wait there were lots of roots but there was one huge root sticking out of the ground, I forgot to step and at that very moment I got scared to death. An adult caught me but it had startled me so much. I kept on going hoping there was no more obstacles.
After I walked for a little longer “Ow” I cried I took my hands off the rope to see what it was, I felt it, it felt rough like bark until I thought about it. We are in a forest in Arthur's Pass, of course it was a tree. I kept walking slowly and steady until a parent said “STOP Sally stop, just wait for a second.” I knew straight away that there was a bad obstacle up ahead because Juliet went before me and I had to stop and wait for her. “Wow” I knew then why I had to wait this was really tough, it’s a break in the rope and it was really hard to find the rope again. I tried to do it for about 2 to 5 minutes and I too started to rage but I’m pretty sure the adult that was there was getting annoyed at me for raging so she directed my hand to the rope.
I kept walking until I fell into a hole, I fell into a deep hole. It was very tough to get out of there without letting go of the rope. I slipped over while I was trying to hike up the hole. Of course I kept one hand on the rope but the other one fell off and for the rest of the day my hand was very muddy. I kept walking following the rope.
“What is this” I thought as I felt something wet and freezing cold when I was further down the track. I tried to climb over it, no that didn't work, around it, nope still didn't work, I tried over again and this time it worked. As my bottom was moving across the wet and cold thing slowly I thought what could this be. I remember every obstacle that Dave told us about, the break in the rope, climbing over a rock, a big hole, hmmm which one could it be. I know, it is a rock. Right now my bottom is sliding across a wet and freezing cold rock. Finally I finished sliding over that rock now I have to keep going to the end and who knows how long that will take. I kept walking until I heard a “RAAA” at first I was a little bit scared but when I heard “Jaden you were too early” I wasn't scared any more I was just glad that I finished the sensory trail.
The sensory trail was awesome even though all the obstacles were hard but it was still one of the most funniest things I have done. One day when you go to Arthur's Pass I would encourage you to give the sensory trail a go.
Pip, I appreciate you helping me with the sensory trail and leading my hand to the rope. Without you I would still be standing there trying to find the rope. Once again, thank you for helping out at Arthur's Pass camp. What was your favourite moment from camp?
Yours sincerely,
Sally
